Ashley Jacobson is the owner and Training Director of Airborne K9 Dog Training, where she specializes in developing confident, capable working dogs through thoughtful, evidence-based training. A lifelong student of behavior and learning, Ashley is passionate about helping handlers understand not only how to train their dogs, but why effective training methods produce lasting results.

Her work centers on the Dutch Shepherd—a breed she deeply admires for its intelligence, versatility, athleticism, and unwavering work ethic. Through years of hands-on experience training and working alongside Dutch Shepherds in a variety of disciplines, Ashley has become a strong advocate for preserving the breed's functional working abilities while making quality education accessible to owners at every level.

Ashley is also an accomplished writer whose educational articles have been featured in DVG America Magazine, including Crate and Rotate and The Proverbial Fork in the Road of Sport Dog Training. Her writing blends practical training experience with behavioral science, giving readers clear, actionable guidance grounded in both research and real-world application.

Driven by a passion for lifelong learning, Ashley is pursuing doctoral studies in psychology with the goal of further exploring learning, cognition, behavior, and human-animal interaction. Her long-term vision is to bridge the gap between academic research and practical dog training, making scientific concepts understandable and useful for trainers, breeders, competitors, and everyday owners alike.

As a Dutch Shepherd News Ambassador, Ashley hopes to contribute educational articles covering topics such as learning theory, puppy development, genetics, temperament, working dog development, and responsible breeding. She is equally passionate about highlighting the incredible versatility of the Dutch Shepherd by showcasing dogs working in IGP, detection, tracking, search and rescue, obedience, agility, herding, and many other disciplines.

Beyond writing, Ashley looks forward to covering seminars, trials, club events, and competitions, interviewing respected breeders, trainers, and handlers, and producing authentic photo and video content that celebrates Dutch Shepherds doing the work they were bred to do.

Ashley believes education is one of the most powerful tools for preserving the Dutch Shepherd's future. Whether someone is raising their first puppy or competing at the highest levels of working dog sports, her goal is to provide engaging, scientifically informed, and practical resources that strengthen both the breed and the community that supports it.

Through her work with Dutch Shepherd News, Ashley hopes to help educate, inspire, and connect enthusiasts around the world while honoring the Dutch Shepherd's remarkable heritage and ensuring its continued success as one of the world's premier working breeds.
