Brian Fidler's career has taken an inspiring path—from studying Business Administration at Stetson University and working as an ocean lifeguard and financial analyst to becoming a professional dog trainer.

After several years in the corporate world, Brian followed his passion for dogs and co-founded Superior K9 Academy in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Inspired by the bond with his Dutch Shepherd, Appa, he dedicated his career to helping dogs and their owners build trust, confidence, and lasting relationships through professional training.

Appa is more than Brian's dog—he's his training partner and teammate. Together, they showcase the intelligence, athleticism, and versatility of the Dutch Shepherd breed while preparing to compete at the 2026 UpDog International Finals, where teams from around the country demonstrate their skills in canine disc sports.
